Bryant "By By" Jennings Media Workout - NBCSN FIGHT NIGHT June 14th

Bryant Jennings (16-0, 8 KO's) held a media workout today in preparation for his June 14th NBC Sports Network Fight Night clash against Andrey Fedosov (24-2, 19 KO's). The fight is part of a triple header on a 7-bout card  that will be held at Sands Casino Resort Bethlem.

Also part of the triple header is a 12-round IBF light heavyweight eliminator showcasing Segey Kovalev (20-0-1, 18 KO's) vs. Cornelius White (21-1, 16 KO's) and a 10-round welterweight battle featuring Ronald Cruz (17-1, 12 KO's) vs. Raymond Narh (25-2, 21 KO's). The NBC Sports Network telecast begins at 8PM EDT

Here's what Jennings shared during the workout today at  ABC Gym in Philadelphia:

Why take this fight with Fedosov? Boxing is a business. You have to build yourself, your marketability. This is our business we hit, we get hit, it's what we do. I'm not gonna just wait around. A lot of it is patience. Patience is very much needed in this sport. As I always say, 'welcome to the fight game.'

What do you know about this guy you are going to fight (Fedosov)? I don't know nothing about him. I very seldom know anything about any of my opponents. That's my trainer's job.

Were you trying to add new moves during sparring? No that's just me. I was trying not to open up against him (sparring partner). Just trying to let him get comfortable punching, just get through the work and conditioning of it. I work on my techniques. We did train early this morning: we did 5 miles, my fastest mile this morning was 6:04; 20 minutes on the pads; then I went in the house and did push-ups, sit ups; drank a smoothie; and then tried to lay down so I could rest up to come back here.

632.jpg

In sparring are you going for the knockout? No, it's the push. This way I'll be able to operate in the later rounds at a high pace, at a fast pace and still be conditioned. And then you go back to the corner, recover for those 30 seconds and come back out and do it all over again. I can do it for 20 rounds.

633.jpg

When you train you seem to go twice as hard than other opponents - you train all day, put in 6 miles a day instead of 3. Was it that way for this camp and why? It's that way for every camp. Running is easy for me. You have to remember I started later and didn't have a big amateur career. I thought I have work twice as hard to get to this point, because I came in the game late. I had to fast track. It's just my way.

634.jpg

When you are fighting one of these guys (non American) does it give you any extra incentive to win for America? Yes, in fact sometimes it gives me the extra push. I know how it is for America to have a heavyweight champion, because it hasn't been here in a long time. I'm a good role model, I have a son and I wouldn't mind if my son lived the same exact life that I lived, because I don't do nothing in front of my son or behind closed doors that I wouldn't have my son do himself when he gets to my age. I just try to be an example for the youth, for the future, just to be that person to look up to. So all in all, being that next heavyweight champion of the world as an American is bigger than anything right now. That's the goal.

Obviously being on NBC Sports Network is not as much money as being on HBO, but it's important to you. Why? You get to be able to showcase on national television. To be able to fight on the national screen is a blessing. People look up to me and NBC Sports like an HBO or Showtime and I feel proud that I can make it appear to be so. Hopefully one day me, my fellow boxers and Main Events can push for that to be as big or even bigger then HBO or Showtime.

From what we've seen of "White House Down," it's sure to be action-packed.

In this exclusive clip, stars Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx, and director Roland Emmerich give us a glimpse at what went into making the film -- and its intense action.

Tatum plays Capitol Policeman John Cale in Emmerich's ("Independence Day") latest explosion-fest. Cale -- who has just been denied his dream job with the Secret Service -- is on a White House tour with his daughter when 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. is attacked by a heavily-strapped paramilitary group. To ensure that the government isn't destroyed from the inside-out, Cale takes the country's -- and the President's (Jamie Foxx) -- safety into his own hands.

Watch the video above to find out some on-set secrets. "White House Down" hits theaters June 28.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson arrives at the premiere of 'Journey 2: The Mysterious Island' at the Chinese Theater in February 2012 in Los Angeles, California

(EW.com) -- How's your year going? Probably not as well as the Rock's.

The former wrestling star (and host of TNT's "The Hero," which premieres Thursday night) is in the midst of an amazing box-office streak. He's starred in four movies so far in 2013 — Snitch (Feb. 22), G.I. Joe: Retaliation (March 28), Pain and Gain (April 26), and Fast & Furious 6 (May 24) — and while they haven't all been massive hits, three of them opened at No. 1. All together they've grossed over $937 million worldwide, giving the Rock (a.k.a. Dwayne Johnson) some major box-office bragging rights.

Warehouse pot operation allegedly run by Andrea Sanderlin (© DEA via The New York Daily News, <a href=http://aka.ms/potmomraid)" />

Andrea Sanderlin of uber-ritzy Scarsdale, N.Y., is facing up to 10 years in prison for allegedly running what feds call a "sophisticated operation to grow and process marijuana," or in less formal terms, a multimillion-dollar pot growhouse in Queens. Authorities say they seized about 2,800 pot plants from the venue. "She seemed like every other mom," said a man who knew Sanderlin through their daughters' love of horseback riding. "I did find it odd that she hadn't been around for a couple of weeks." Sanderlin was caught when another pot farmer ratted her out. Man, this would be a great idea for a TV show. Oh wait, it already is  thanks, "Weeds." TO READ MORE CLICK LINK -[Source]

Inside 50 Cent's Incredible Collection Of Vehicles [Pics]

11020602687?profile=original

Written by Zack O. Greenburg @zogblog for Forbes

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s love affair with automobiles got off to an inauspicious start. His first car nearly got him killed, and not because he was driving too fast. In the summer of 1994, at the age of 19, Jackson plunked down $53,000 in cash made from peddling drugs on the streets of New York for a charcoal gray Toyota Land Cruiser. He tricked it out with a rooftop bike rack, new wheels and a sound system with a bass that thumped so hard it rattled the license plate against the back hatch.

A few months later, Jackson was driving his car through a rough neighborhood when a stranger pulled up next to him, flashed a menacing look and asked, “Yo, where Black at?” “Black” was the street name of a notorious–and violent–gangster. Jackson quickly put it all together: Black had a similar-looking car. Jackson shrugged at his questioner and, luckily for him, the man drove off into the night.

The next day, Jackson returned to the dealership. “Why the f**k did you sell [Black] the same color truck as me?” he demanded. “I almost got killed last night.”

He traded in the Land Cruiser for a white Mercedes-Benz 400 SEL with bulletproof windows and a 6.0 liter V-12 engine. But the second car turned out to be no better than the first. The Mercedes was conspicuous, an easy target for thieves. A pair of armed robbers ambushed him outside his grandmother’s house in Queens. Jackson barely escaped through a back alley and soon sold the vehicle.

Then came more car trouble, but this time only his ego was bruised. In the late 1990s, Jackson decided to leave the drug-dealing days behind to commit himself fully to his music, in part to please his grandmother, who’d raised him from age 8 after his mother was killed (an attempt on Jackson’s own life and the birth of his son provided the main impetus for his career change). The more virtuous life had its own problems: He was left with significantly less money. Which meant he was stuck driving a homely 1992 burgundy Dodge Caravan. “The a/c didn’t work,” he recalls glumly.

But his fortunes–and car collection–soon changed for the better. After linking up with Eminem and Dr. Dre, Jackson recorded the album that would make him a star, 2003′s Get Rich or Die Tryin’. It would go on to sell more than 8 million copies in the U.S. alone, becoming one of the most successful rap albums of all time. Buying and customizing uberluxury cars soon became the means by which he celebrated his musical triumphs.

With money from his first album, Jackson first rewarded his grandmother, leasing a Mercedes-Benz C240 for her. Next he bought himself a Rolls-Royce Phantom. He initially wanted to customize it, covering it entirely in chrome. Then he met with the president of Rolls-Royce, who showed him what a door slathered in the shiny substance looked like. “I didn’t realize how big the car was,” says Jackson, reclining on a sofa in his Midtown Manhattan office. “It would have looked like a silver bus. You know what I’m saying? So I changed my mind.”

Since then Jackson has released three more solo albums, pushing his worldwide sales total past 30 million; his next is due out later this year. He’s also created a business empire that includes his own clothing and shoe lines, videogames and films, headphones and energy shots, even his own flavor of VitaminWater. Jackson now has a net worth of $125 million. “You learn a lot about yourself when you have success for a while,” he says. “Like, a lot of things that you think are really important aren’t. But you need that process.”

One thing that has remained important to Jackson is the cars. He owns two bulletproof Chevrolet Suburbans that feature bombproof undercarriages. The $200,000 vehicles were built for the Iraq war. He bought a Lamborghini Murcielago to celebrate the launch of his second album. The $300,000 car was painted charcoal gray, just like his ill-fated Land Cruiser. Perhaps to erase the ghosts of his youth–and satisfy the urge he had with his Rolls–Jackson decked the Lamborghini out in an all-chrome finish.

Over the years, Jackson added a Ferrari convertible and a Yamaha YZF-R1 motorcycle, along with a Bentley Mulsanne with beige leather seats (to match his coat, as he explains in one song). He recently painted his West Coast fleet a metallic blue and added matching ceramic brakes to his Lamborghini, being more interested in freshening up his existing rides than trading them for newer models–which, he says, “are starting to turn a little space-agey to me.” He’s no stranger to futuristic rides: Last year he designed a few concept cars of his own.

These days, Jackson isn’t worried about drug dealers and gangsters. It’s the taxman who merits concern.

“If you’re familiar with my man Uncle Sam, you understand the only way you can actually feel better about what he’s gonna take, come the end of the year, is lifestyle,” says Jackson. “Only thing you can do is spend some of it.”

Is Jay-Z's agency closing in on another star athlete in the tri-state area?

NFL.com's Albert Breer reported Sunday that Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson has fired agent Drew Rosenhaus, and The Philadelphia Inquirer, CSNPhilly.com and USA Today allreported that Jackson might sign with Roc Nation Sports

It’s no secret that Jay-Z is filthy rich. In addition to his successful rap career, he has his hands in several aspects of the industry. Earlier this year he was named by Forbes as the world’s second richest rapper, only missing out on the number one spot by $105 million. And now, according to Page Six, he’s about to get a whole lot richer because he’s preparing to ink a pretty huge deallb_icon1.png with Samsung.

We hear that the deal is worth $20 million and will involve some sort of music streaming app that allows the hip-hop mogul to promote and distribute the music of his artists.

Heidi Pratt

I was a fan of “Laguna Beach” and “The Hills,”  I liked Heidi when she appeared on both shows (she made her debut on “Laguna Beach” as Lauren Conrad’s supportivelb_icon1.png friend after Jason kissed his ex-girlfriend while dating LC).  Heidi was more in the forefront when she became Costello to Conrad’s Abbott and the duo attempted to figure out life in the big city of Hollywood.

Their friendship began to deteriorate when there was a mixture of Heidi getting involved with Spencer Pratt, and when Heidi began to allegedly start feeling herself a little too much.  Allegations that Heidi would do whatever she could to capitalize on her fame, calling the paparazzi on herself was fictionalized in Lauren Conrad’s “L.A. Candy” book series, along with “The Fame Gamelb_icon1.png.”

Greetings!
A Message from the President

Good Morning Friends, Family and Fans,

It's fight week again here at CES, and once again our team has worked tirelessly to put together the best possible fight card we could.  We want to make sure you leave Twin River Casino Friday night feeling that you got way more than your money's worth.  I believe this card will do just that with proven veterans such as John "Doomsday" Howard, Chuck "Cold Steel" O'Neil and Greg "Ribz" Rebello headlining the night and some of the most exciting rising stars in the sport like Andre "The Asian Sensation" Soukhamthath and Nate "The Snake" Andrews.  It is going to be a fantastic night of fights and we hope to see you all there!

Much Respect,

Jimmy

Message from "Cold Steel"

IjT1Wnb.jpgI'm really excited to be fighting June 7th back at Twin River Casino for CES.  It has been six months since my last fight and I feel under the coaching of Nate Ryan I grow as a fighter on a daily basis.  I sincerely look forward to showcasing my skills and improvements in this fight.  My opponent, Andrew Osborne, is tough, scrappy and seems to always come to fight.  These are the kind of fights I love.  I've been working hard everyday to be ready for this fight.  I plan to put on a show, so don't miss it

Thoughts from the Rest of the Fight Card

Eric Spicely: "I'm excited to showcase my full range of talent in this fight. I had jitters in my first fight in February, but this time someone's going to get hurt, and it won't get out of the first round."
Nate Andrews: "I'm a well rounded fighter, I am ready for wherever the fight takes us. If he wants to stand, we'll stand. If he wants to take it to the ground, then he'll be in my jiu-jitsu world, and I don't think that's a world that he wants to play in."
Blair Tugman: "I want to win the CES 135 pound title, and then I want to become one of the top 125 pound fighters in the world,"
Sidemar Honario: "I have been training hard everyday with Daniel Gracie for this fight. I don't have a gameplan, my game is to fight and give to the spectators a big show!"
