LAB Records has recently released the mixtape, The Book of Omar by Los Angeles rapper, Omar Cruz. The Book of Omar will be released on major mixtape websites such as Datpiff.com, HotNewHipHop.com and many more. Its availability is completely free on the 25th of November 2013. Interested individuals may acquire hard copies of the mixtape at www.LosAngelesBasedRecords.com. The project features Glasses Malone, Crooked I, Ty $, Compton Menace, Aztek Escobar, K-Young and more. From beginning to end the caliber of music is strong on this mixtape, so everyone should make sure to check it out.

Omar Cruz is a Latino recording artist from Los Angeles, California who began his journey in the mid to late 2000s. He is one of the most talented rappers to have graced the microphone. His popularity in the underground mixtape circuit resulted in a major-label recording contract with Interscope/Geffen in 2006. The son of a Mexican mother and Colombian father, Cruz was born in L.A. and grew up in the South Central region close to Crenshaw. Omar was initially inspired by the music of Rakim, Big Daddy Kane and most of all N.W.A. Subsequently, he found Latino rappers namely Big Punisher and Cypress Hill influential along with Los Angeles rappers like 2Pac, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.

Gradually drawn into the hip-hop scene, Cruz initially adopted the name Blunts LLA (Latin Lyrical Assassin). As Blunts LLA, he introduced two underground mixtapes namely 2004’s City of Gods and Blow in 2005. After his name change to Omar Cruz, he further increased his popularity with the release of Cruzifixion in 2006 and 2007 B.C. in 2007. Cruz has collaborated with artists like The Game, Pitbull, WC, Nipsey Hussle, Jay Rock, Ya Boy, Joell Ortiz, Paul Wall, Baby Bash, Sick Jacken, Skeme and many more.

In 2006, Cruz signed a record deal with Interscope/Geffen Records and began work on his major label debut album titled, Sign of the Cruz. The first single I Hang With My Dogz produced by Javie Lopez was met with a positive response and followed up with To The Top ft. Frankie J. In 2008 Omar signed on to be the host of Pimpeando on MTV Tr3s, a Latino version of Pimp My Ride. By 2009, on the heels of an anticipated album release, label politics and mismanagement began disrupting plans for the Sign of the Cruz. He released one more mixtape in 2010 titled The Hand of God and by 2011 was officially released from his contract.

After taking a two-year hiatus from the music industry, in 2012 he then partnered with Los Angeles engineer/producer Kev Da Khemist and formed the independent music label known as Los Angeles Based (LAB) Records. The first major release from this indie label is The Book of Omar street/mixtape album. It is actually the introduction to the long awaited debut album from Omar Cruz, The Passion Of Cruz.

HISTORY OF THE FREDDIE FIXER PARADE  _____________________________________   Q: Who Is Freddie Fixer? Answer: Dr. Fred Smith, A City Physician And Police Commissioner For Yale Police Department, Who Aggressively Fought Blight In The Dixwell-Newhallville Neighborhoods      Q: What Is The Purpose Of The Freddie Fixer Parade? Answer: The Purpose of The Freddie Fixer Parade Was For Citizens To Celebrate After Fixing Up The Neighborhoods And Promoting The Ideals Of Ecology Via Recycling,  Neighborhood Beautification, And Assisting Seniors With Those Efforts.   Q: How Can I Help Support This Annual Event? Answer: Anyone Can Help Support The Freddie Fixer Parade By Giving Donations, Volunteering, Or By Simply Recycling And Encouraging Everyone To Take Pride In Their Neighborhoods.   All Of These Questions Are Answered In The Following Passage.    On Or About September 15, 1962, A Cleanup Campaign Was Started In The Dixwell-Newhallville Community Initiated By The Late Dr. Fred Smith, A Physician, And The Dixwell Redevelopment Agency Based In The City Of New Haven, Connecticut. The Campaign Originated From A Desire To Help The Elderly In Fixing Up Their Homes And Yards. The Purpose Was To Get Residents To Take Pride In Their Community By Both Picking Up Trash, And By "Fixing Up" The Areas Around Their Homes. The "Fix-Up" Day Would Be Followed By A Parade Through The Neighborhood, Which Has Led To What Is Now Considered The Largest African-American Parade in New England. The “Freddie Fixer” Parade.     In Addition To His Passion For The Community To Which Dr. Smith Served, He Had A Strong Sense Of Involving All Of The Neighborhood Members In His Philosophy, Especially Children. In Fact, It Was Actually The Children Who Came Up With The Name Of  The “Freddie Fixer.” A Contest Was Held Throughout The City Of New Haven Within The Public School System For The Children To Come Up With A Name For The Event And Initially, It Was Named “Freddie Fix-It,” Using Dr. Fred Smith’s First Name As A Metaphor. This Of Course Was Due To The Close Ties Dr. Smith Had Because Of His Status As A Pediatrician. Subsequent Contests Followed Which Eventually Led To The Unanimous Decision Of The Name: “Freddie Fixer.”     The First Organizers Of The Freddie Fixer Parade In Addition To The Late Dr. Fred Smith Were The Late Edward “Ed” Grant, The Late Edna Carnegie-Baker, And Dr. Charles Twyman. One Of The Fondest Memories That They Recall In Establishing The Parade Is That On Either The First Or Second Year Of The Celebration, “It Rained Like A Son Of A Gun!” Quoted The Late Ed Grant.     Fortunately, For The Many Years To Follow, The Month Of May Would Bring Much Better Weather That Churches, Marching Groups, Drill Teams, Police, Fire, Floats, Cars, Participants, Volunteers, And Parade Goers From All Across The Country, Would Come Out To The City Of New Haven, Connecticut And Celebrate In Record Numbers!     Unfortunately, The Tradition Of The Parade, Who Some Reluctantly Believe Has Shifted From Its True Purpose Of Neighborhood Beautification, Recycling, And Reducing Violence Throughout The City, Has Also Been Stereotyped To Be Associated With Violence Over The Last Few Years. A Tremendous Amount Of Support Has Been Lost Due To The Negative Incidents That Have Ocurred Which Were Totally Unrealted To The Mission Of The Freddie Fixer Parade And The Meaning That The Founding Members Worked So Hard To Establish.         However, The Freddie Fixer Parade Organization Is Committed To Restore The True Meaning Of This Historic Event By Flooding The Community With Reminders Of The True History And Purpose Of Its Evolvement. All Donations Revceived By This Organization Will Go Directly To That Purpose.     Therefore, We Are Asking For The New Haven Community's Unconditional Financial, Moral, And Spiritual Support For This Event. Not Only During The Time That The Parade Comes Around, But On A Year-Round Basis. Together We Can March Back To The Future Of The Freddie Fixer Parade!                                                                                                                                                                                              COMMUNITY IS ONLY IS SAFE AS WE "ALLOW" IT TO BE!    With The Greatest Love For My Community,   Maurice W. FLORIDA MOGUL WALKS AWAY FROM EMPIRE FOR A LIFE WITHIN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY

ATLANTA, GA- Business Connoisseur Lee Calhoun was last seen entering a recording studio in Central Florida. His colleagues and junior executives have reported no suspension of foul play or witnessed any signs of struggle, as it appears Calhoun left behind an aggregation of thriving self-made businesses, by his own free will.

Calhoun started his first company during his senior year in college. His first business was such a success, he opened another in the adjacent city; yet, eager to expand his portfolio, he dived into the regiment of reading leading business authors to sharpen his business acumen, following were other successful business endeavors in real estate, automobile dealerships, and cash advance stores.

After starting his flourishing businesses at the age of 26, a decade later he has achieved an affluent lifestyle that embodies the American Dream. However his manually built empire was just not enough to sustain his thirst. Eager to raise the bar yet again, Calhoun succumbed to music. He soon developed the moniker Chief CEO for his ability to develop and implement high level strategic strategies.

In 2013 Chief CEO formed another entity, Cash Life Entertainment, branding himself as the labels first artist. Chief CEO’s newest release I’m Hot, produced by Super Producer Lew Drummin, is a musical testament to greatness while his melodically hypnotizing hits like Multimillionaire and CEO give you a glimpse into the lifestyle and rising of a true CEO.

For More Information on Chief CEO please contact Cash Life Entertainment at (352) 281-5717. For \Wealth Seminars/Workshops contact Twala Meju at (888) 810-7164 Ext. 801 or ceocashlifeent@gmail.com or visit www.chiefceo.com

MASHANTUCKET, Conn. (Nov. 2nd, 2013) – Looking for his second consecutive win after capturing the North American Boxing Association (NABA) featherweight title two months ago, Hartford’s Mike Oliver fought to an entertaining draw against Brooklyn challenger Cornelius Lock on Saturday night at Foxwoods Resort Casino.

The eight-round bout between Lock and Oliver was the main event of Jimmy Burchfield’s “Connecticut Classic” pro-am card, featuring six amateur and six professional bouts. Following his disqualification win over Eric Hunter in September, Oliver (26-5-1) came out aggressive against the stronger Lock, but was at his best when weaving in and out of trouble while Lock was the better fighter toe-to-toe.

The two staged a tremendous finish over the final four rounds, exchanging blows along the ropes and in the center of the ring. Lock (21-6-2) earned a 78-74 decision on one card while the other two judges each scored the bout 76-76, resulting in a majority draw.

1378456_611020572277695_1841961050_n.jpg

Fighting for the first time since capturing the Women’s International Boxing Association bantamweight title in May, New London’s Shelito Vincent (10-0, 1 KO) showed no signs of rust whatsoever in the six-round co-feature, coming out firing against the undersized Alisah McPhee (2-1) of British Columbia, Canada, who moved up in weight from 118 pounds to put her unbeaten record on the line against Vincent.

McPhee fought hard, but didn’t have the strength or speed to match Vincent, who looked just as sharp Saturday as she did in her previous win against Angel Gladney in May. Vincent caught McPhee early and often and eventually caught her in a flurry in the neutral corner late in the fourth round, forcing referee Shada Murdaugh to stop the bout with 2:08remaining.

 1459812_611946762185076_296281817_n.jpg

Worcester, Mass., heavyweight Donnie Palmer (3-0-1, 3 KOs) kept his unbeaten record intact, stopping New Haven’s Solomon Maye (1-1) with 36 seconds remaining in the fourth and final round. Palmer agreed to fight Maye earlyFriday morning, 24 hours before the event, after Maye’s original opponent, Zeferino Albino, was forced to withdraw Thursdaydue to personal reasons.

The 6-foot-10 Palmer had the distinct height advantage over the shorter, 6-2 Maye, but Maye looked sharp early, working the body aggressively while Palmer backpedaled looking to avoid sustaining any damage. As the fight wore on, Palmer ultimately wore down Maye, using his 267-frame to keep Maye against the ropes while landing clean blows to the head. Murdaugh deducted a point from Maye in the fourth for spitting his mouthpiece out a third time and eventually stopped the bout moments later when Maye could no longer defend himself.

In one of the most entertaining fights of the night, female bantamweights Marcia Agripino (1-0-1) of Groton, Conn., and newcomer Michelle Cook (0-0-1) of upstate New York battled to a majority draw following four action-packed rounds. Cook, a highly-regarded amateur from the Adirondacks, dominated the early rounds with sharp, effective counterpunching against the aggressive Agripino, but Agripino fought back in the latter half of the fight and began landing cleanly while avoiding Cook’s counterpunches. One judge scored the bout in favor of Cook, 39-37, while the remaining judges each scored it 38-38, resulting in a majority draw.

 1382187_611054808940938_99381776_n.jpg?width=750

Super welterweight Christian Lao of New Haven (5-2-1) won for the first time in more than a year, outworking Hartford’s Joe Wilson Jr. (1-1) to earn a 39-37, 40-36, 38-38 majority decision. Lao’s speed and footwork were too much for Wilson, as he ducked in and out trouble and landed cleanly without taking much punishment. Following a year-and-a-half layoff, Lao returned to the ring Oct. 5, fighting to a draw, before beating Wilson on Saturday night.

 1002604_611933095519776_958561240_n.jpg

New Haven welterweight Jimmy Williams (5-0-1) bounced back from a draw in early October with a unanimous decision win over the slick, elusive Evincii Dixon (2-3-1) of Lancaster, Pa., 39-37 on all three scorecards. The two spent most of the opening round posturing while trying to find an opening. Dixon seemed intent on counterpunching while Williams was the aggressor looking to press the action. The pace picked up in the third round as Williams opened with his most effective flurry of the night, forcing Dixon to exchange. Williams continued to press in the fourth round while Dixon landed several effective counterpunches, but not enough to sway the judges, resulting in his second loss in his last three fights dating back to September.
