Baltimore Ravens cheerleader Courtney Lenz, 23, says she has been barred from the Super Bowlbecause she weighs too much.
Lenz made the comments during an interview on "Access Hollywood" on Wednesday evening.
"They said that I had quote, unquote, a rough year," Lenz said. "I'd been benched earlier in the season for a little bit of a weight gain. We do get weighed every week during the season, and you can't fluctuate at all. I gained, I think it was 1.8 pounds. I had been consistent and they let me cheer previously and then I gained 1.8 or 1.6 pounds and they said because I had gained weight and they wanted me to be consistent or they wanted me to lose, they benched me for a game and because it was a disciplinary action, that was the reason."
Lenz went on to say that she weighs 124 pounds.
"During the season, I was 124. That was consistently, they wanted me to get back down to 121, 120, which is what I was at when I was 18, 19, when I started on the team," she said. "That was the only disciplinary action I had during the year. I got benched because of my weight, and they said that was the reason. Anybody that had disciplinary action taken during the season was automatically disqualified [from the Super Bowl]. However, there are some girls on the team that were also benched for their weight, and are going. So they just aren't consistent, it isn't fair. That's why I brought this to the attention of the fans because what they're doing is not right."
Lenz has been a Ravens cheerleader for five years.
The Ravens released a statement Thursday morning about the situation:
"As set by the NFL, we are permitted to bring 32 cheerleaders to the Super Bowl. Our selection process was based upon three criteria: seniority, performance ability and personal conduct throughout the season. As much as we would like to take the whole team, we are unable to do so, due to parameters set by the NFL

Do you remember where you were on August 1, 1981? That was the birthday of Music Television (MTV) and the beginning era of a string of music videos which starred a bevy of sultry video vixens. In addition to the bands and singers who created the songs, these young women (some models, some not) often stole the spotlight and their images have been burned in the collective minds of MTV's earliest generation of viewers. Now, almost 20 years later after many of these video first aired, our friends at Snakkle.com

– Cissy Houston has a few words, and a few more, for Bobby Brown.
In "Remembering Whitney," the mother of the late Whitney Houston writes that from the start she had doubted whether Brown was right for her daughter. And she thinks that Whitney might not have ended up so "deep" into drugs had they not stayed together.
"I do believe her life would have turned out differently," Houston writes. "It would have been easier for her to get sober and stay sober. Instead she was with someone who, like her, wanted to party. To me, he never seemed to be a help to her in the way she needed."
"Remembering Whitney" came out Tuesday, two weeks short of the first anniversary of Houston's death. She drowned in a hotel bathtub in Beverly Hills, Calif., at age 48. Authorities said her death was complicated by cocaine use and heart disease.

Police in South Florida say rapper Rick Ross crashed his Rolls Royce into a building after hearing shots fired nearby.
Fort Lauderdale police say Ross and his companion, fashion designer Shateria L. Moragne-el, reported hearing multiple shots fired in their direction at around 5:00 a.m. Monday. Police say Ross lost control of the silver Rolls and crashed into an apartment building.
Neither Ross nor his passenger was injured and police say it did not appear that any bullets struck the Rolls.
The police report uses Ross's real name, William L. Roberts. Ross turned 37 years old Monday.
Authorities say unknown suspects fled before police arrived. TV news footage showed a bullet hole in the window of a nearby restaurant.

Fort Lauderdale TV station Channel 7 News questions how the barrage of bullets hit buildings in the area, but not one hit Ross' car. They say it may have been a hoax to stir up publicity for the rapper.

"Some people are wondering how you shoot at a Rolls-Royce, and you miss it [even though] it's so big," said Shelby Rushin, a DJ at the hip hop and R&B radio station 99 Jamz.

Police in Fort Lauderdale are now planning to use magic water instead of bullets to fight certain crimes, employing a new liquefied weapon that seems concocted straight out of a TV cop show script.
The liquid solution, called SmartWater CSI, leaves a semi-permanent splash on crooks that can be viewed only with the use of ultraviolet black lights.
Want to leave a mark on the robber who just hit your store? Squirt, squirt. Have a heirloom you want to mark as your own personal property instead of engraving your name on it? Squirt, squirt.
On Thursday, city and police officials in Fort Lauderdale unveiled its plans to begin using the SmartWater as a tool to combat property crimes within the city.
"We are going to have officers out there with the UV light, and we'll be looking for those SmartWater markings," said Fort Lauderdale Police Chief Frank Adderley. "It's outside-the-box thinking.

C issy Houston’s new memoir, “Remembering Whitney”is stirring some controversy. While the senior Houston doesn’t go so far as to blame her late daughter’s drug addiction on ex-husband Bobby Brown, I’ve learned he is not happy with how his former mother-in-law writes about him.
In the book, Houston actually disses Brown for what she perceived as his lack of true concern for Whitney. “He didn’t help her, that’s for damn sure,” Houston writes, making clear she believed the superstar married beneath her and “I tried to tell Nippy [Cissy’s nickname for Whitney] that I didn’t think Bobby was good for her.”A close business associate of Brown says the singer “knows where he stands with Cissy and her relatively low opinion of him doesn’t come as any surprise, but he doesn’t like the overall tone of the book, which he thinks is Cissy’s way of trying to assuage her conscience about not doing enough to prevent Whitney’s death.
