About Us/Contact Us

In November 2011, CPTV brought an all-new type of sports coverage to Connecticut with CPTV Sports, a statewide, 24/7 sports channel that covers high school, college and additional sporting events throughout the state.

CPTV Sports (formerly the Connecticut Sports Network) is a not-for-profit channel owned and managed by Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) that broadcasts sporting events and matchups including the state's high schools, state colleges including Hartford, Central, Yale and Post, the WNBA's Connecticut Sun, the Eastern League's New Britain Rock Cats, the Connecticut Soccer League and many other sports including bowling, roller derby, equestrian events.

On April 11, 2012, the channel dramatically expanded its statewide reach, joining the lineups of three cable systems as well as going on over-the-air digitally: On June 13,  the channel achieved total statewide franchised cable coverage when it joined the lineup of Metrocast, which serves two areas in eastern Connecticut. Where viewers can find CPTV Sports:

Cable: Cablevision 139, Comcast 185 187 or 744, Cox 805, Charter 233 (eastern CT), 234 (western CT), Metrocast 418, Thames River 87.

Over the air digital: Hartford: WEDH, 24.3; Bridgeport WEDW 49.3; New Haven WEDY 65.3; Norwich WEDN 53.3. CPTV Sports is one of CPTV’s digital channels and will also be broadcast in high-definition television, and will take advantage of CPTV’s unique ability to bring local people and events to exciting life with intimate storytelling and reporting.

“At CPTV, we know that the best in sports entertainment can be found, not in Boston or New York, but right here in the Nutmeg State,” said Jerry Franklin, President and CEO of the Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network. Franklin said the network will be "bringing coverage of all the exciting, inspiring fun that can be found right in Connecticut residents’ own backyards.”
