No one could have imagined that the COVID-19 crisis would change our normal so abruptly and leave so many families and communities struggling to meet their basic needs. In response to this problem, ConnCAT has created a special fund to provide emergency support for Dixwell and Newhallville families severely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
We know that everyone, no matter their status, has been impacted by this pandemic in one way or another. But in this time of shared crisis, we’re calling on our friends and neighbors who aren’t experiencing severe inabilities to make ends meet to support those who are.
Please join us in our effort and consider contributing to ConnCAT’s Crisis Relief Fund. 100% of your donation will go to supporting families in need.  Donate Now

11020666054?profile=originalTiny House Fan/Opponent! Happy New Year :)

First, thank you for submitting a survey response, coming to a community meeting, and/or signing up to receive our emails. You care! No matter if you strongly support or vehemently oppose the tinylifenhv initiative, I personally just want to say thanks for participating in your community. Civics are important, and you matter!
Update: After a rocky December, we will be submitting draft zoning text to the Board of Alders on January 23 for consideration and public hearing at the February 19th City Plan Commission meeting.
Draft Zoning Text: We took a stab at incorporating the community's ideas and feedback into a coherent zoning text and came up with this draft. Essentially, it's a floating zone that can be applied in residential areas, subject to compliance with this zone's requirements and restrictions. For example, in order to develop certain projects using this zone (rather than normal RM-2 or RS-1 zones), you have to prove that you personally (not your LLC) live in New Haven. Read the draft, feel free to redline it, or email us back with comments.
Next Steps: As we prepare to submit to the Board of Alders, we need your help with the following:
-- Remember to answer our survey if you haven't already. Send it along to friends or neighbors for them to answer as well. Try to get responses in by Jan 15.
-- Consider submitting public testimony online here
-- Mark your calendars and come to the public hearing on February 19 at 6:00PM at 200 Orange Street.

-- AND Please please continue to advocate for more diverse and more affordable housing types in more neighborhoods in New Haven!

Thank you for helping to improve housing options in New Haven.

Warm Regards,

Katherine McComic, tinylifenhv.com

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Latest on the presidential campaign (all times local):

4:40 a.m.

Democrat Joe Biden is now leading President Donald Trump in the battleground state of Georgia.

By Friday morning, Biden overtook Trump in the number of ballots counted in the battleground, a must-win state for Trump that has long been a Republican stronghold. Biden now has a 917-vote advantage.

The contest is still too early for The Associated Press to call. Thousands of ballots are still left to be counted — many in counties where the former vice president was in the lead.

An AP analysis showed that Biden’s vote margins grew as counties processed mail ballots cast in his favor.

There is a potential that the race could go to a recount. Under Georgia law, if the margin between Biden and Trump is under half a percentage point of difference, a recount can be requested.

HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE PRESIDENTIAL RACE:

Democrat Joe Biden is pushing closer to the 270 Electoral College votes needed to carry the White House, securing victories in the battlegrounds of Wisconsin and Michigan and narrowing President Donald Trump’s path.
