Kanye West almost pursued an athletic career to win over Kim Kardashian. At least that’s what he joked about during an appearance on the “Kris Jenner Show,” Us Weekly reports.

On the episode that was taped Monday, the rap mogul told Kris Jenner he’s been “so in love” with her daughter that he thought about “playing sports” to win over the reality-TV starlet, since she dated a slew of athletes before getting together with him in April 2012.

Kardashian was previously married to Nets player Kris Humphries and dated NFL star Reggie Bush on and off for several years

Rapper's always brag about "keeping it real." One Brooklyn, New rapper named Neno Best, real name Mathew Best, kept it so real he helped the NYPD bring down a ring of gun dealers.

Best posted photos on Instagram of guns and cash. He also made a video on YouTube bragging about "packing more guns than the Air Force."

Best's boasts led to an investigation that led to his arrest along with 18 others. More than 200 guns were seized, including SKS semi-automatic Soviet-era rifles that are capable of shooting through "a project door, through the next door, through a wall, through the next wall into the next apartment" sources told the New York Daily News"That will go through a car, a cop's armor. That will go through anything we've got."

26-year old Best was selling guns out of his studio. The investigation into his activities led to Adeji Omole, who was buying guns from two men in the Carolinas.

Authorities used wiretaps and surveillance to penetrate the ring. One undercover agent was able to purchase many of the weapons over the last year

Earl Campbell, 23, of Rock Hill, S.C. is accused of selling 90 guns, including two assault rifles, for nearly $75,000, during 24 meetings with the undercover officer beginning in October.

Walter Walker, 29, of Sanford, N.C., is accused of selling 116 guns, including five assault weapons and a machine gun, for $82,000 during 19 meetings with the undercover detective over 10 months beginning last September.

Walker and Campbell would bring their weapons to New York on buses to Chinatown. They would then sell them to Adedji, authorities said.

“There is no doubt that the seizure of these guns – the largest bust in the city’s history – has saved lives,’’ Mayor Bloomberg said in a statement. “For that reason, every New Yorker, in every part of our city, owes a debt of thanks to all those involved in this investigation.”

This weekend at the box office, a superhero comedy, a Steve Jobs biopic, and a Harrison Ford thriller all got served by a butler. Lee Daniels’ The Butler, to be exact. The Weinstein Company’s awards-bait drama, which stars Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey, topped the chart with an excellent $25 million from 2,933 theaters in its first frame. Audiences issued the well-reviewed picture an enthusiastic “A” CinemaScore grade, which sets it up for a lucrative box office run as summer draws to a close

Shawna at Cafe Nine

“Next time, you have to say ‘Vas-cay-a!’” Dominick Splendorio called out. “We’re a rum bar, not a tequila bar.”

Vascaya, a top-selling rum at Splendorio’s Zafra restaurant, was one of dozens of drinks that flowed Thursday night to accompany concoctions of a different kind: musical mixtures.

Zafra, on Orange Street, was one of several spots around town that filled with jazz, or jazz stirred with other traditions, as part of a week-long schedule ofperformances leading up to Saturday’s New Haven Jazz Festival concerts on the Green.

Click the video to hear a sample from Cafe Nine.

The music, like the drinks being consumed, blended different styles, as a sampling of both revealed during a series of stops around town Thursday night. Come along for a taste of the music in the air.
