Our source tells us that Mayweather found out that Shantel had a cell phoneicon1.png, just to call Omar, and that the two were exchanging photos of their private parts. Something we already know Miss Jackson is good at…

NEW HAVEN - Bishop Vincent Smith of the Morning Star Church on Dixwell Avenue beamed as he watched the Freddie Fixer Parade march by Sunday, a display of community pride he has seen many time over his years growing up in the city.

“It’s a great day,” said Smith, who was with his wife, church First Lady Yvette Smith, and others for the parade.

Smith estimated he started attending the parade when he was about 5. He said he hopes the parade next year can be bigger and better and concentrate even more on its original intent: community clean-up.

6 February, 2018 – BURGLAR ARRESTED

At 9:23 PM, Officers Michael MacIver, Ameer Williams, James Feliciano, Gregory Aamon and Daophet Sangxayarath were dispatched to a Sherman Parkway apartment building. They were responding to a burglary complaint. The officers found a man walking about and detained him. Officer Williams and Feliciano stayed with the suspect while MacIver sought out the victims.

The tenant, a thirty-seven year old woman, was inside her apartment with her three children, ages twelve, ten and five. She told the officers a man had climbed into her apartment through a sliding balcony door and confronted her children. He was demanding to know where someone the tenant hadn’t heard of was.

She said the intruder checked about the apartment before asking how to get out. She said she heard the man head downstairs. He took nothing with him.

The tenant identified Mohammed Jawad (8-12-1987), of Baggott Street in West Haven, CT, as the burglar who’d broken in. He was arrested and charged with first degree burglary and second degree criminal trespass.

6 February, 2018 – CONVICTED FELON ON PAROLE ARRESTED WITH A GUN DURING TRAFFIC STOP

At 10:22 PM, Officer Endri Dragoi spotted a grey Acura. Its windows were tinted and it bore no front marker plate. He called in the suspicious car and was soon joined by Officers Paul Vakos and kyle Listro.

The car’s driver was Dylon M Hubson. Officer Dragoi smelled burnt marijuana. He asked the man if he’d smoked any. Hubson replied he hadn’t. When asked if he had any in the car, he replied he didn’t.

Not convinced, Dragoi asked again. Hobson handed him a bag of weed, exclaiming that was all he had on him. He was asked to get out of the car and was passed on to the back-up officers. Further checking revealed, Hubson didn’t have a license and the car wasn’t registered.

Officer Dragoi focused on the “nervous” passenger, Edwin Moreno (AKA, Edwin Moreno-Wheless). He’s a convicted felon on parole. As Dragoi patted him down, he felt the distinct shape of a gun concealed by his waist. “It’s not mine”, Moreno-Wheless exclaimed – and would repeat over and over again. The gun fell into his pants leg and was retrieved. Listro asked if it was loaded. Moreno-Wheless replied it wasn’t.

The officers confiscated a couple hundred dollars from Hubson and a digital scale from his hoodie. Another scale and a few “roaches” were found in the car. Hubson told the cops only one scale was working.

The gun, a black Glock .45, turned out to have been stolen in New Haven in 2015. Dragoi and his colleagues charged Hubson with driving a vehicle with illegally tinted windows, failing to display a front plate, driving without a license, operating an unregistered ride, failure to carry a valid insurance card, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. Moreno was charged with criminal possession of a pistol, possession of a stolen firearm and carrying a pistol without a permit. We told his Parole Officer everything too.

The evidence was logged in and the car – apparently belonging to Hubson’s girlfriend, was impounded.

HIP-HOP KRISS FAMOUSS IN WRESTLING RING??

11020610494?profile=original

February 13, 2014 – Springfield, Massachusetts]  Calling all hip-hop, wrestling, boxing fans and everyone in between.  NEFW (New England Frontier Wrestling) returns once again to their stomping ground at the Chicopee Boys and Girls Club on Saturday, February 22, 2014 for some exciting head to head, toe to toe wrestling entertainment action entitled “Roses & Wristlocks 3!!”. But wait. You are probably thinking… what does that have to do with hip-hop and Kriss Famouss?  Are you hoping he’d put on a mask and become a good guy in the ring or maybe toss someone over a table and do his Kriss Famouss move the “Famouss Beat Down”? Ha ha ha.. Get it Beat Down.  But no, Famouss will not be in tights that night. Instead straight out of a video production of all historic ring entrances he’ll be escorting Robert “The Bean” Mancini, The Pride of West Springfield into the ring.

Pattee Mak: Your ring walk next Saturday will be with no other than local hip-hop artist Kriss Famouss.  How important is the music/performer ring walk to you?

Mancini: It’s very important to me.  I couldn’t come out to just any music.  This is what’s going to get me pump up before my big win.   When I heard Famouss’ song I knew I wanted him to walk me out.

Pattee Mak: Last year you wrote the lyrics and produced the boxing video “Bout That Life”.  Next Saturday, you’ll be walking the ring walk with 3x celebrity boxing champ into the ring. Back in November 2013 I asked you, “Would you consider walking a fighter down to the ring and rapping this song as their intro?” You stated “Most definitely. I would bring excitement to any arena while pumpin up their fans. Besides that is the ultimate excitement. So many fans love the ring intro. It prepares the fighter mentally and puts the fighter in the place he needs to be.” Now that moment has arrived. Next Saturday… Your thoughts?

Famouss: Yes I wanted to thank Mancini and NEFW for giving me the opportunely to perform.  This will be an experience I will never forget.  I grew up watching wrestling and boxing and although I never seen Mancini box before I’m juiced up to attend this event and looking forward to seeing Mancini’s win.  And ya never know I’ve been known to crack a chair over someone’s head from time to time. So watch out come the 22nd.

Pattee Mak:  This is the 2nd time you will be having Robert “The Bean” Mancini on your card and the first time Famouss will be on hand at one of your events. Tell me how can someone obtain tickets if they wanted to go or find out more about your wrestling event?

ERIC NEWTON:  Tickets will be available at the door starting at 5:30 p.m. on the day of the show.  NEFW Pro Wrestling is excited to have Famouss on our show. It’s not only our goal to provide the fans with great wrestling but great entertainment as a whole.  Music and Wrestling have a great history together dating back to the 80's Rock'n Wrestling era to the current modern era. It’s a winning combination! NEFW welcomes Bob "Bean" Mancini and Hip Star Famouss to NEFW Pro Wrestling Family.  All info can be obtained by contacting me at stonevelvetroses@aol.com or by visiting www.NEFWProWrestling.com.

Other matches of the evening:

Tag Team Special Attraction Lineage:  (Chris Envy & Furio Falcone) vs. NEFW Champion "Dirt Dawg" Jeremy Leary & Former WWE Superstar Matt Striker

City of New Haven Unveils William Lanson Statue

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Today the City of New Haven, artist Dana King, Al Marder and the Amistad Committee, State and local elected officials formally unveiled the statue of William Lanson. William Lanson was an historical figure, an 18th century runaway slave, who was a major property owner in New Haven, provided opportunity for many other people of color in the community, and a master engineer who worked on an array of monumental infrastructure projects that shaped the City into what it is today. The event was live streamed on the City’s FaceBook Page.

New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker said, “Not much is known about Mr. Lanson’s early life, but one thing is abundantly clear: he has made an incredible mark on New Haven. His perseverance and ingenuity has had a lasting impact on our community that we still see today,” he concluded.

During his remarks, New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker highlighted some of the great feats from William Lanson that would transform the New Haven community. At the reception just two days prior to the statue dedication, Elicker reminded attendees that Lanson extended Long Wharf in a project that lasted two years (1810-1812), making New Haven’s Long Wharf the longest wharf at that time, which would greatly improve and link the economic hubs in the community. The site of the statue dedication, the Farmington Canal Trail, also holds serious significance, as Lanson was contracted to build the wall of the harbor basin where the canal would empty.

11020663062?profile=original

Artist Dana King released the following statement:

I am honored to have taken a prominent role in memorializing William Lanson, who was such an important figure in the New Haven community. William Lanson built an integrated community in what is now Wooster Square, advocated for voting rights for free Black people, building vital infrastructure that increased wealth for New Haveners, yet never received the credit he deserves. He gave everything he had to create a better New Haven and died after having his property taken from him and his reputation deliberately tarnished. Now more than ever, we must honor Black lives, by rectifying mistakes of the past and present. William Lanson represents so much to African descendants: our history, our struggles, and our triumphs. Thank you to the Amistad Committee for giving me this extraordinary opportunity.

11020663877?profile=original

 Alder ward 22 Mrs Morrison

Others in attendance at the event included Director of Arts and Cultural Affairs at the City Adriane Jefferson, former Mayor Toni Harp, Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz, President Al Marder and members of the Amistad Committee, members of the State Delegation and Board of Alders, and Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro.

For information on William Lanson, read below or visit this link.

William Lanson, a runaway slave: a leader in the struggle for the right of free Blacks to vote; one of the founders of the Temple Street Church (now Dixwell United Church of Christ); harbored runaway slaves; owned Wooster Square.  Lanson succeeded at most everything he aspired to accomplish by pushing open and bravely walking through doors that were closed to him and other formerly enslaved and freemen/women in 19th century America. He did it by turning empty, mostly undesirable land into vibrant neighborhoods filled with housing for marginalized, invisible people. He did it employing Black people in the construction of New Haven’s early infrastructure. And he also spoke out on behalf of those whose voices were ignored. Later in life, the white power structure determined that William Lanson’s time was up. He had become way too powerful for a Black man. When that happened, the system felled him like the deeply rooted tree that he had become.

For more information on artist and sculptor Dana King, read below or visit this link.

Dana King is a classical figurative sculptor who creates public monuments of Black Bodies in Bronze. She studies the strength and resilience of African descendants and create pieces made of clay with her hands that are then cast in bronze. King prefers sculptures because they inhabit space and space is power. She believes sculpture provides an opportunity to shape culturally significant memories that determine how African descendants are publicly held and remembered. Research is fundamental to her work. When digging for threads to weave together stories of the past, there are historically generalized and racist ideologies that demand a wholesale upheaval of the normative misrepresentation of Black peoples’ emotional and physical sacrifices. African descendants deserve public monuments of truth that radiate their powerful and undying resilience created from a Black aesthetic point of view. King’s sculptures link generations by revealing common threads: shared values, experiences, and aspirations. She knows they help those alive today compare and contrast their world with that of social pioneers, both enslaved and free, whose courage and commitment to excellence helped create modern society. Dana King creates memories, hoping you see yourself and those you love in her work.

Chad Dawson
The true definition of a Champion Breed

Interview by: Shireal Renee

When all the odds seemed to be against him, he fought his way out. When people told him he wouldn’t make it he fought his way through. Now the world is screaming his name and he fights even harder because now he can’t lose.

Chad Dawson has overcome all the obstacles that have been placed against him. Growing up in poverty he was able to use the love of his family to keep him from falling victim to the streets. Even now as a champion that same love keeps him focused and unshaken because he knows that those are the people that were in his corner before the lights in the ring shined bright on him. Through struggling with bad choices to making a decision to be a good man for his family Chad found a way to come out on top defining the odds and writing his own story. Now after coming back home and taking the championship once again he has showed all who doubted him, that with hard work, perseverance and dedication anyone can make it. He is the true definition of a Champion Breed.
____________________________________________

How is the family, your wife and kids?
Everything is good, I am out here in Los Vegas right now they are back in Connecticut, actually my wife was out here a couple of weeks ago so I got to spend a little bit of time with her before the big fight.

I know you are still a bit of a newly wed, are you two still in the honeymoon phase?
I mean we are both young so we are having fun, its good to be married. We have three beautiful boys, we are both happy and I couldn’t ask for more than that.

What was life like growing up in New Haven?
Growing up in New Haven it was typical like any other kid. I’m not going to act like it was tougher than it was; I was just like any other kid. I grew up in the Hill and the Ville, me and my family moved around a lot. It was pretty tough for us going from different school to different school. We grew up in poverty, we didn’t have it that great, but we grew up with our mother and father. That was the best part about it because we always had each other; we didn’t have to go to the streets looking for other stuff. We had each other; we had our family, which made everything good.

That is always important to have both of your parents in your life. So, who pushed you to follow your aspirations of becoming a boxer?
I would definitely say my father pushed me to become a boxer, he always tells me I’ve been boxing since I was born. Since I was 2 years old and able to put on a pair of gloves, I had a pair of them on; he definitely instilled boxing in me. Every since I was about 8 he brought me to the boxing gym and started my training from then and every since I have been successful.

What was one of your first fights?
I had my first amateur fight when I was 10 years old. Actually my first amateur fight was at the Sports Haven on Longworth.

Do you remember who you fought?
Oh yea, I fought this kid Brian Mase, I actually ended up fighting him for my first four fights. I won 3 out of 4 of those fights.

So you were a champ from the beginning.
I don’t know about a champ because it took a lot of hard work to get to where I am. As an amateur I ended my career with 86 fights and out of the 86 I had 13 losses. So it was a lot of hard work and a lot of dedication. At the time boxing was everything to me, so I worked hard at it. There were a couple times when I stayed away from it because I had gotten tiered of it. When I was about 15 or 16 I walked away from boxing to try football and basketball, but at the end of the day I always knew boxing was going to be my way out so I ended up back in the gym and from then on I pushed it real hard. Now I am successful, I am a world champion and everything worked out.

How much has your life changed since you became a boxer?
It changed for the better because 2 to 3 years ago I was struggling day to day just like everybody else. Everybody thought because I was on TV and winning fights that I had money, but the money didn’t really start coming until about 2 years ago when I fought my first world title. At 21 years old people thought I had money but I really didn’t. I was still struggling trying to make it as a fighter. Then, Showtime gave me a shot; I was on there a couple of times and that put a little money in my pocket. Now, I am with HBO and everything is gravy. My life has changed for the better. When I met my wife I had nothing, so she took care of me. Now I have the opportunity to take care of her. We have 3 kids together and everything is great.

What lessons on life has the road to the championship taught you?
I’ve learned a lot of lessons. There were a couple of times when I got in trouble for some things that I should not have been doing. Once I failed a drug test – that should never have happened. I was in the streets running around while at the same time I had a professional career to maintain; the two together wasn’t going to work. I can say me failing that drug test opened my eyes. It showed me there are other things more important then just hanging out in the streets and being with friends. I feel like at the end of the day, after boxing, I can do what I want, but right now I have to focus on boxing because that is what got me to where I am right now.

With all the success, what keeps you grounded?
My family and my kids, and just knowing that there are other things out there. I am 27 years old; I’m a two-time world champion already. I have been in the ring with Antonio Tarver, I’ve fought Glen Johnson, and I have another fight with Glen coming up. Just knowing that there are bigger things out there then me being 28 and having a little bit of money keeps me grounded. I just want to continue to get better. I’m not going to just stop at being good. I don’t want to be just known as a good fighter, I want to be known as a great fighter, so that keeps me going.

How have you used your success in boxing to inspire, uplift and help others in your community?
I like talking to younger guys, when I go down to Ring One and I see the younger kids in there they are all like, “wow, that’s Chad Dawson”. I don’t feel like, ‘wow’ cause I came from the same place that they came from, the same way they are in the gym training hard and working to get to where I am; I’ve been there, done that. For me to go back to the gym and talk to them and give them the opportunity to see me as a regular person, that makes me feel good. The fact that they are able to see me and touch me it is amazing, that is enough for me. I always tell them, ‘if you want to be someone and go somewhere then you have to work hard’. It takes a lot of hard work. It takes more than going to the gym once or twice a week. I know because there were times when I did that. I was lucky because I have so much talent that I would still show up to fights and win. But at the end of the day, I would go into a tournament and I would come in second or third place, but if I would have put the effort and time in at the gym, I would have came in first place. Now I can go back and tell them what I have been through and hopefully that inspires them.

You have a record label, “Champion Breed”, how did you decide to align yourself with the music industry?
I have loved music since I was a little kid; it is something that I always wanted to get into. The label is still up-in-coming. It is not really established right now, but as long as I keep bringing money in from boxing then I can put it into the label so the music business can be my fall back.

How do you balance the time between training for your fights and owning a record label?
It is hard but I have people like Pepe and my wife who help me and try to keep me level headed. It is tough though because when I come home I don’t really want to be bothered with a lot of business. I just want to relax, be with my family and have a little fun. But if I want to be a business man I have to get use to stuff like that.

How is Pepe involved in “Champion Breed”? Is he a part of that business?
I’ve known him for a long time but we have just recently started becoming closer. By bringing him in on the label he is helping me out a lot by scouting for talent. He brings talent to me while at the same time he is teaching me the business because I didn’t know really know a lot about it. My whole life all I did was box, I don’t even have a high school diploma so the only thing I know, is boxing. Pepe is showing me the business part of the music industry as far as owning businesses and becoming a business man, he has been helping me with that. That is why we work so well together because he is teaching me something as well as helping me out.

It is always good to have someone like that around you. So, what artist do you have signed to your label right now?
Right now I have this kid, C-Dubb, Charms and Blazze.

Are you looking to sign any other artist?
Yes, I am talking to a lot of people, a lot of guys give me their CD’s and I listen to them. But at the end of the day, I have to handle my business first which is, boxing. If I don’t have boxing and I am not able to make money doing that, there will be no, “Champion Breed”, there will be no record label. Boxing comes first for me, the music thing comes second. When the time comes and I am ready to hang up the boxing gloves then I can go into the music thing full time. Right now boxing is how I feed my family and how I survive so that comes first and the music thing is secondary.

With that said, how does an artist get your attention? What do you have to see in a person for you to invest your time and money into them?
Well, if I see something in them and I feel like they have the talent then I will invest in them. Right now it has nothing to do with me making money; I just like to help people. Like, Blazze, and C-Dubb, I help them out a lot. I send them in the studio and I pay for their studio time. I like to make people happy; I feel if what I do is making them happy with themselves then they can make good music.

How did it feel coming back to Connecticut to fight?
It felt great. I finally got to come back to my home and showcase my talent. A lot of people have been asking me when I am coming back to Connecticut, so they all got what they wanted.

What was your training schedule like?
I was training 6 days a week. I ran 5 miles a day. I trained 3 times a day; I did my gym work, right after that I went to the fitness gym and then did strength and conditioning work. It was tough but like I said before, that is how I make my money and how I feed my family so at the end of the day when I am banged up I know what I am doing it for. I think about my kids and my wife.

So were you are pretty confident going into the Glen Johnson fight.
Yes, I was very confident because I was on my “A” game. I had been in the gym; I’d trained for over 8 weeks so I was not worried about anything. I believe that when I am in great shape and on my “A” game that nobody can touch me.

Do you have any rituals or spiritual tactics that you practice before you go into a fight?
Not really, we always say a prayer before I go into the ring. About 10 minutes before I fight, we all get together; quiet the dressing room down and say a little prayer. Other than that I like to have my kids around. My son is always in the ring with me, just to have my wife and kids there believing in me, is good. Plus my father is in my corner, my mother is there; and since this fight is in Connecticut my whole family is going to be there, so I have a lot of love and support that makes me feel like nothing can go wrong.

As a woman, I know I would be terrified every time my man went into the ring, how does your wife feel about you fighting?
My wife is very supportive; she always tells me that she prays before I go into a fight. I know it can be tough because I have 3 other brothers that use to box, and I know how it was for me to watch them fight, so I can imagine how it must feel for my wife to sit there while her husband gets hit so for that I commend her. If you watch her on TV, she is calm. I always ask her, ‘why are you so calm’. She says, “Because she has faith in me”.

What words do you have to give to inspire other people trying to come up and accomplish what you’ve accomplished?
I would tell them don’t give up on your dreams. A lot of people told me that I would never make it. I remember being in high school and teachers and principles telling me that I wasn’t going to amount to nothing because I was hard headed. They said, “I wasn’t going to make it”. Believe it or not, I’ve had teachers call me a “dumb jock”. So for me to be where It am right now, even though I don’t have a high school diploma, I feel like I’ve made it, I’ve fulfilled my dreams. I always told people I was going to be a world champion and now I am. I do hope to one day go back to school and get that diploma but at the end of the day I’ve made it to where I wanted to be at, with or without it.

The involved car, a Nissan Maxima is seen turning left (south) onto Whalley from Elsworth. The impact itself is obscured by a stopped vehicle. The Nissan operator doesn’t stop and drives off after the crash. He stops on Argonne Street, where he’s confronted by a man who indicates he’s aware of the driver’s involvement in the crash. When the witness pulls out his phone to call police, the driver takes off running into a nearby apartment building.

The fleeing driver was described as a Latino man in his twenties, wearing an orange shirt and sporting a goatee. Two men on the porch of the apartment building told the cops they’d seen him get out of the Nissan and run inside. One said he asked the man if he was alright and offered to phone 911 for him. He said the man said " I`m okay, I need to call my wife, I hit a bike, I hit a bike."

There has been a lot of speculation recently regarding an apparent conflict between longtime friends 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather Jr. Until now none of the reasons seemed legitimate, but a series of letters written to Floyd while he was in jail may provide a clue.

Former Floyd  Tommy Summers, A.K.A. Tommy Smalls, reached out to the boxing champion while he was incarcerated and tried to convince him that his longtime adviser, Al Haymon, had cut deals behind his back to hold fights at the MGM  in Las Vegas costing Floyd millions of dollars in the process. Summers also accused Haymon of funneling all of his fighters to rival promotional company Golden Boy instead of Floyd's Mayweather Promotions.

 11020595081?profile=original

"All the fighter that Al Haymon got he signed them to Golden Boy, not with us," Summers wrote. "You let him eat with you and you can't eat with him. HBO told 50 Cent on the low that Al Haymon has 20 dates over a period of years on your name. F*ck that."

Summers goes on to explain further how Haymon basically stole money from Floyd by doing side deals.

"You fought Oscar [De La Hoya], [Ricky] Hatton, [Shane] Mosely, [Manuel] Marquez, [Victor] Ortiz, [Carlos] Baldimore and [Miguel] Cotto. All at the MGM Grand. The deal was cut under the table. That site fee and gate money ain't sh*t. G.B. and Al already took the money to bring you to Vegas and fight here at MGM. It's worth over $150 million dollars. D. King did not bring Tyson to Vegas at MGM for only gate money. You are worth more, do your own thing. You never got the things you wanted from MGM because they got it already. Over $100 million over 8-fights. Trust me I know."

Summers explained that when Floyd got out of jail there would be big money deals on the table from people like Jerry Jones, Steve Wynn and either Hank Steinbrenner orHal Steinbrenner to hold fights at their stadiums in front of 75,000 to 100,000 fans each time out.

"You can make $500 million to $1 billion before you quit and after," Summers insisted. "That old Golden Boy sh*t is over. You gonna make $100 million or more a fight. You made Golden Boy and Al Haymon a . Game over!"

Floyd evidently did not believe Summers. Summers and 50 Cent are now in negotiations to do business with Manny Pacquiao by forming a new boxing promotion company. Could that be the reason for the recent friction between Floyd and Fif?.

Read the letters below and decide for yourself.
