Show Overview: Since Dr. Cece Calhoun assumed the role as Medical Director of the Sickle Cell Program at Yale, she has used all the tools in her arsenal to work towards reducing the burden carried by individuals with this disease. As a researcher, Dr. Calhoun uses Implementation Science to improve outcomes for patients with sickle cell disease across their lifespan. During, the month of September, which has been designated as National Sickle Cell Awareness Month, we take time to educate ourselves about the disease and discuss what we can do to help advance developments around this disease.
