22 July, 2017 – SHOOTING INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY
At 2:57 PM, Officers and Firefighter/ EMTs were dispatched to the area of Shelton Avenue and Ivy Street regarding a reported person shot. The victim, a thirteen year old boy was located a block away on Bassett Street. He’d been shot in his leg. The victim was rushed to Yale New Haven Hospital for treatment, where he remains alert and in stable condition with a non-life threatening wound.
Detectives are on scene searching for evidence and witnesses. The exact location the victim was shot is being investigated.
Assistant Chief Achilles Generoso said, “We’re asking for the public’s help. If anyone has information that can lead us to the perpetrator, we’re eager to talk to them”.
