At 7:46 PM, Officers were dispatched to the Ayah-H Market at 831 Orange Street. The woman behind the counter had reported a robbery.
According to Detectives, the crook, a moderately heavy-set white man, had brought a can of soda to the counter. He produced a dollar as if to pay for it. When the clerk opened the register, the crook “roared”, lunged over the counter and snatched about thirty dollars from the till. No weapon was involved.
During the robbery, the man scratched the clerk on her arm. Her injury is minor.
The perpetrator was described as standing about 5’08” – 5’10”. He weighs about 220 pounds. He wore a blue T-shirt over a long sleeve white shirt and blue jeans. He sports short greying hair and had a close shaved beard.
Detectives collected evidence from the scene and recovered a still image from the market’s surveillance system. They are hoping someone will recognize the perp and share that information with police.
