Dear Community Leader,
On May 12, 2026, the City of New Haven Elderly Services Department, in honor of Older
American Month will host their Annual Senior Citizen Volunteer of the Year Award Luncheon in
which we invite you to attend. We are deeply committed to the volunteer service our seniors
participate in throughout the year, and we are seeking donations to make this event a success, and
all proceeds from this event directly support senior citizen participation.
As leaders of the Greater New Haven community, we all have a vested interest in assuring we have
senior citizens who have the ability to focus on maintaining their physical and mental health
through activities like regular exercise, nutritious meals, social interaction, cognitive stimulation,
safe living environments, access to healthcare, and respecting their independence and choices,
allowing them to live life on their terms as much as possible.
Your commitment to Elderly Services serves as a magnet to attract other businesses to sponsor this event
and seek other measures to support the vitality of our department. If you are not in a position to make a
monetary contribution, please consider donating door prizes for our free raffle or promotional items.
Please complete the enclosed Sponsorship Form which contains additional information on the varying
