MAYOR HARP UNDERSCORES SUPPORT FOR STATE’S WORKFORCE TRAINING CENTERS, PROGRAMS

New Haven – Mayor Toni N. Harp today echoed public statements made by Governor Malloy, underscoring her own support for Connecticut’s workforce training centers and their programs:

“Many residents of Connecticut cities benefit from an opportunity to acquire a new job skill, polish an old one, change or advance a career, and the state’s workforce training centers provide that opportunity for them to improve their prospects in that regard,” Mayor Harp said. “Connecticut’s investment in these programs returns dividends in two ways: first, with a skilled workforce to help attract new businesses to the state, and through the increased economic activity fueled by additional, higher-wage workers.”
