MAYOR HARP: PROCEEDS FROM FRIDAY NIGHT’S HILLHOUSE/HAMDEN FOOTBALL GAME WILL BENEFIT HURRICANE RELIEF FUND

New Haven – Mayor Toni N. Harp and New Haven Public Schools officials confirmed this afternoon that proceeds generated from Friday night’s Hillhouse / Hamden high school football game will benefit a local hurricane relief fund established to help residents of Puerto Rico.

Literally millions of American citizens in Puerto Rico were stranded and left without electricity after Hurricane Maria devastated the island last week. Coordinated, grassroots efforts in New Haven are meant to provide some relief to stricken residents there.

In addition to the contribution of proceeds from Friday’s football game, donations from individuals can be made at www.arte-inc.com or at https://www.gofundme.com/new-haven-for-puerto-rico. Interested individuals can also send e-mail to arte-inc@comcast.net for more information.
