COPS, EDUCATORS & COMMUNITY MEMBERS PLAN AN AFTERNOON STROLL
New Haven| Who walks the neighborhood streets of New Haven? Those that live and work in them do. The officers patrolling their beats do. So why not do it together?
Tomorrow, Friday, September 22nd, at 3:00 PM, that’s exactly what’ll happen. Officers and local Elm City folks will meet at 4 Science Park on Winchester Avenue to, quite literally, take a walk.
Community members will be joined by Police Chief Anthony Campbell, police commanders and officers, school officials including area principals and local clergy members. Anyone can join the group. All you have to do is show up.
This is the first such event we’ve been involved with. It is the hopes of organizers that this planned walkthrough will prompt discussions about the community, those in it and solutions to problems in a social environment – void of podiums and fluorescent lights.
