NEW HAVEN DETECTIVES EN ROUTE TO VIRGINIA REGARDING TREMAINE POOLE MANHUNT

New Haven| Detectives from the New Haven Police Major Crimes Division have left for Suffex County, Virginia this morning.

Virginia State Police are investigating a shooting and pursuit that occurred in Sussex County Wednesday morning (Aug. 1, 2018). New Haven Police have been informed that the person shot by Virginia State Police MAY BE New Haven murder suspect Tremaine Marquese Poole (7-5-1976). Poole is wanted by the NHPD for the first degree shooting assault of his wife on May 7th on Henry Street in New Haven. Poole is also the suspect in the murder of a twenty-eight year old New Haven woman. The victim’s two young children, ages six and eleven were in the car with her when she was murdered.

According to Sergeant Michelle Anaya of the Virginia State Police, the incident began at approximately 8:18 AM today (Wednesday, 1 August, 2018), when a stolen vehicle traveling north on Interstate 95 refused to stop for a Virginia State Trooper. A pursuit was initiated. During the course of the pursuit, shots were fired from the pursued vehicle. The pursued vehicle continued north on I-95 and took Exit 24. The pursuit ended near Loco School and Bell roads in Sussex County. The driver of the suspect vehicle was apprehended
