TOTOWA, NJ - Main Events announced today that they have signed a promotional agreement with light heavyweight boxer Anatoliy "The Gladiator" Dudchenko, 18-2, 12 KOs. The six-foot, three-inch, 35-year old, crowd-pleasing fighter was born in the Ukraine, but now lives in Los Angeles. The rising star is currently riding a 16-bout victory streak, highlighted by his recent win over previously undefeated Robert Woge in Germany.
That fight was a real war, full of two way action, and resulted in Dudchenko winning the IBF Inter-Continental light heavyweight championship by upset 12-round unanimous decision. It was the most impressive win of a career that began in 2006, after the fighter relocated to California.
Despite posting numerous exciting stoppages over the likes of Sabou Ballogou, Tyrell Hendrix, and others, Dudchenko has yet to appear on the radar of the average boxing fan. However, his new pact with Main Events figures to change all that.
"Today the hard work of myself and my team has finally paid off," Dudchenko said. "My goal when I came to this country was to be with a promoter that would believe in my talent and bring me to a world title. Thank you (Main Events) for believing in me. I've come very far in the last year. I earned everything I have, and I want to be a champion that fights whoever, whenever and wherever. Hopes are high that Dudchenko can soon make his move in the crowded 175-pound division, where many of the top fighters in the sport currently compete. Adding his name to the list that many call boxing's best weight class, is something that Team Gladiator eagerly anticipates.
"On behalf of myself, VP Steve Vernikov and President Lawrence Rozenberg, we are extremely grateful for Kathy Duva and Jolene Mizzone for believing in Anatoliy," said Dudchenko's agent, Vince Caruso of RozeBOX Sports. "Signing with Main Events gives us a promoter who has the ability to bring us to the biggest stages of this sport, and a matchmaker who knows what fights the public wants to see. Mark my words, Main Events will make Anatoliy Dudchenko a world champion in the near future."
"He makes great fights and we intend to make sure that everyone has the chance to see Anatoliy the next time he appears," said Kathy Duva. "His fight with Robert Woge on October 26th would have been a candidate for 'Fight of the Year' had it taken place in the US. His presence is another reason why the light heavyweight division is becoming the most exciting in professional boxing. Anatoliy is a welcome addition to Main Events."
Now with the final piece of his career in place, Dudchenko can't wait to get back to the business of fighting. "Main Events sees the excitement in my division, and I want to be part of that excitement," Dudchenko said. "I will give 100% of myself every time I'm in the ring. ATLANTIC CITY - Heavyweight Amir Mansour, 20-0, 15 KOs, floored Kelvin Price, 14-2, 6 KOs, in rounds five and seven en route to a seventh round TKO victory in the main event at Resorts International Hotel Casino. The fight was televised on Fight Night by NBC Sports Network, and was Mansour's national TV debut. Mansour, Wilmington, DE, was the harder puncher and eventually wore down his six-foot, seven-inch opponent from Pensacola. "It came down to who wanted it more," Mansour said after the fight. "And there is no one with more desire than me. He was tough and we both wanted the same thing, but I'm going to keep coming until I get him out of there. That's what I did."

After Mansour dropped Price in the seventh and battered him until the bell ended the round, referee Earl Brown stopped the fight before the next round began. The result was a TKO at 3:00 of round seven.
In the nationally televised co-feature bout, Buffalo's Lionell Thompson defeated Ryan Coyne of St. Louis, by unanimous decision over ten rounds. Thompson used his superior boxing skills to bloody and bruise his left-handed opponent en route to an easy win.

"I actually thought I might get the knockout," Thompson said. "He was a lot tougher than I expected. He took a lot of huge body shots."

After the ten round limit, all three judges scored the fight for Thompson, now 15-2, 9 KOs. The scores were 99-91, 99-91 and 99-90. Coyne lost for the second consecutive time and fell to 21-2, 9 KOs overall.

Rutherford, NJ southpaw, John Magda, 4-0, 3 KOs, remained undefeated with a 6-round unanimous decision over Jess Noriega, 2-9, 2 KOs, of Lynchburg, VA. Magda outworked his opponent throughout the bout and won by scores of 60-54, 60-54 and 60-53.

Former two-time cruiserweight champion Steve "USS" Cunningham, Philadelphia, 26-6, 12 KOs, pounded out a workmanlike unanimous decision over Manuel Quezada, 29-8, 18 KOs, of Bakersfield, CA, in an 8-round heavyweight fight. Cunningham won every round on all three official 80-72 scorecards in the one-sided fight.

In a bruising punch out, heavyweight Darnell "Ding-A-Ling Man" Wilson, Miami, FL,scored a dramatic KO at 2:59 of the 6th and final round over previously undefeated David "Nino" Rodriguez of El Paso, TX. Rodriguez was leading on two of the three the official cards before Wilson cut him over the right eye and then landed a picture-perfect left hook just before the final bell. The punch sent Rodriguez crashing to the canvas, and referee Lindsey Page stopped the fight immediately. Rodriguez, 36-1, 34 KOs, was returning to the ring after a layoff of more than two years. Wilson, 25-17-3, 21 KOs, snapped a 5-bout losing streak with the KO.

In the opening bout of the evening, Vincent Floyd, Philadelphia, dropped Trent Laidler, Palm Beach, FL, in round one but had to settle for a 4-round split decision draw. Judge Debbie Barnes had Laidler the winner 40-35. George Hill scored the bout 38-37 for Floyd, and Joe Pasquale saw it even, 38-38. Both middleweights were making their professional debut.

In the scheduled 4-round walkout bout, Philadelphia heavyweight Aaron Leonard, 1-1-1, 1 KO, stopped Sicklerville, NJ's Andrew Peurifoy, 0-1, at 1:50 of the first round.
